Department of Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy of Naogaon Medical College is one of the core basic science departments of the institution. Since the establishment of the college, the department has been playing a vital role in providing foundational medical education to undergraduate students.

The department is responsible for teaching gross anatomy, histology, and embryology to MBBS students of 1st and 2nd professional examinations. Anatomy is taught as an essential basic subject with appropriate clinical correlation to support future medical practice.

The department is staffed with qualified and experienced faculty members and supported by trained technical and academic personnel. Academic activities are conducted in a systematic and disciplined manner following the curriculum prescribed by the relevant authority.

The Department of Anatomy is equipped with a well-maintained anatomy museum containing human skeletons, anatomical models, charts, and preserved specimens of different organs, including normal and anomalous structures. These facilities support practical learning and improve students’ understanding of human anatomy.

A histology laboratory with adequate facilities for microscopic study is available in the department. The laboratory is equipped with light microscopes and prepared histological slides for undergraduate teaching. Multimedia teaching aids, including PowerPoint presentations and audiovisual equipment, are regularly used to facilitate effective classroom instruction.
